Supernova 2008: Challenges for the Network Age

We’re at a turning point. The “web 2.0” boom has lasted longer than its “web 1.0” predecessor, and there are storm clouds ahead for the global economy. Battles over the future of software, the data center, broadband, the media, the social ecosystem, and the planet have been joined in earnest. This is not the time for small ideas or business as usual. The shift to network-based computing, services, business processes, marketing, entertainment, social relationships, connectivity, and culture will challenge our assumptions about how the world works. Those who fail to appreciate the complex implications are at risk. Those who can take advantage of the power of the new network face extraordinary opportunities.

VizThink Conference '08

Visual thinkers are people who use graphic design, images, pictures, video, animations, sketches, and other forms of visual art for communications and learning. VizThink will bring together several hundred participants from the best of the best in our industry with participation by trainers, marketers, presenters, executives, planners, strategists, and managers, just to name a few. While each approach may be different, the attendees all share the same philosophy in the power of visualization for learning and communication. By bringing these diverse groups together, a community will be created that can take the industry to a new level. VisualInsight will be facilitating this event.

Collaborative Workshop
The Future of Talent III

From the web site: "For the third year, we are convening an elite group of talent leaders from around the world on October 28-30. These 25 leaders along with an eclectic faculty of academics, practitioners, researchers and writers will jointly explore the edges of the talent universe. Using a structured brainstorming technique that Elieen Clegg, one of our faculty, and Kevin Wheeler have been perfecting over the past decade, we will develop a “map” of the future of talent."

VISUAL COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP

Learn to use large-scale graphics for leading, teaching and motivating others – in a two day intensive workshop on the idyllic Northern California Coast (www.bodegabaylodge.com) Visual tools are the next-generation edge in strategic thinking and learning. Invoking images in the minds of others is the most powerful way to communicate; yet the potential is untapped in most organizations. You can transform communication and thinking within your core teams. You’ll learn simple yet universal and timeless images that you can combine with your own personal "doodles" to convert brainstorming sessions, training modules, strategic offsites, or phone conference reports into pictures that will put everyone "on the same page."

So Long, and Thanks for All the CAD: A revealing look at where we go from here

Visual journalism documentation by Visual Insight's Eileen Clegg.

A picture says a thousand words. Eileen’s work combines graphics and words to be able to communicate the messages and key points imparted during a presentation and keynote. We are very excited to add this method of communication to our event.
